Ecuador
Hey!! I am so behind on getting out a blog. A friend recently emailed me and basically said 'Get on the ball and BLOG". So here I am on a Sunday afternoon with some free time on my hands. I know, unusual!!!
I was incredibly busy with a class I was taking and completed it last Friday just in time to go to the IL Pastor's Kids Retreat! It was great. The kids were cooperative and well behaved. Our speaker, Chet C., is the Appliacian DYD and a PK himself, did an excellant job. He shared from his heart and I believed the kids recieved the Word.
In just a few weeks I'll be heading to Quito, Ecuador for a medical evangelism trip. I can't wait. If you know me you know I LOVE going on these trips. I love seeing God change lives and being a part of that. I love praying with an indivdual to receive Christ for the first time. I love hearing/seeing miracles in the people we reach. It's just an incredible expereince. I LOVE IT and am honored that God allows me to be a part of something so awesome.
Will you partner with me the next few weeks to pray for our team and for the ministry we'll be doing? Please take 10-15 min a day and pray for protection in travel and for God's favor in the community. Pray for our health and that our bodies will adjust to the high altitudes (we'll be in the mountains). Pray that MANY lives will be changed for His Kingdom!
Thanks for you love and support. Without you HealthCare Ministries is just a building!!!

Itineration AGAIN!!!
Hello everyone! Can you believe it??? I begin itineration in Jan/Feb 2009!
It feels just like yesterday I was finishing up my 16 month tour. I am looking forward to the next time around of itinerating. I can't wait to share with churches and pastors what God has done in and through me the last few years.
I'm currently working on my budget for the next 4 year term. I can only do what God has called me to do through faithful support of churches and individuals.
If you wish to make a contribution to this ministry please email me at tgriswold@healthcareministries.org

Long time!
Hello everyone!!! My apologies for not keeping up with the blog. Truth is there wasn't too much to share.
I've been back from my crazy summer for a few weeks now and I'm ready to head out again. The next medical evangelism team I'm taking is in November to Ecuador. I would appreciate it if you could pray with and for this team.
The next several months will be busy. We have many things happening at HealthCare Ministries and we are excited to see what God has in store. Pray for our new director, Debbie Highfill, as she leads HCM.
I will begin the itineration process again in January. Please pray for me as I begin to book services and meeting with church pastors and boards. I also need prayer for a car. The car I currently have is ok for in town driving but cannot withstand highway driving. If you know of anyone who is willing to donate a car or want to give funds (both are tax-deductable) let me know via email gris021075@yahoo.com .
Thanks for your support in prayers! I can't survive without them!!
In Christ Alone,
Terri

Miracles in Brazil
Here are a couple of miracles that happened while we were in Corumba, Brazil. These were told to me by the missionaries we worked with.
The first occurred at the São Paulo airport when the HCM team can through customs without being stopped because of the medicines. That has never happened with the previous 14 teams!
There was the case of the 33 year-old mother of one girl who came to the clinic with a goiter on her thigh, which disappeared in spiritual counseling after she received Jesus and was prayed over.
One woman who complained to the doctor of insomnia and pain in her legs for years but she refused to accept Jesus. She received her medication and was prayed for. She came back the next day to tell the doctor that she accepted Jesus and slept all night and without leg pain for the first time in many years.
Spiritual counseling also introduced me quickly to another woman who was healed of shoulder pain from bursitis after she was prayed for.
This is a clear sign that God is at work among us!! Praise be to the God who heals and saves!

Back from my travels
Hey gang!! I'm back from Corumba, Brazil and want you to know IT WAS INCREDIBLE. Our medical clinic was 5 days long and we worked hard. My team of 17 medical professionals and support staff saw 1700+ patients and over 700 accepted Christ as their personal Lord and Savior!
I had the chance to sit with several individuals and counseled them through tragic and depressing moments in their lives. I was able to share Christ with one woman and saw a transformation take place before my eyes! It is a humbling moment when God sets a person before you and you are able to usher them into a personal relationship with him!!!
I hope that YOU have experienced a personal relationship with Christ. He has a wonderful life planned out for you. He wants to have unity with you. He wants to have a one-on-one relationship with you. All you have to do is believe that HE died on the cross for your sins. Confess your sins and He will forgive your sins. Accept Him into your life by asking Christ to rule and reign in your heart and life.
I hope that you have had that opportunity!! If you are accepting Him as your Savior for the first time please let me know via email so I can pray with and for you. My email is tgriswold@healthcareministries.org I want to hear from you.
Feel free to check out my pictures at http://flickr.com/photos/missionaryterri/

bosnia and herzgovina
Things have been good so far. I am in this morning due to rain and the condition of my foot. Where we are staying has a very bad slope so I am waiting for the rain to let up and dry the ground a bit.
I have had some wonderful opportunities from the Lord to help individuals heal from some deep wounds. The people here are beautiful and very strong. Everything they have been through has made them strong but they are so wounded.
Please pray that God will continue to do great things and to use us as simple tools to bring hope that heals.
Be blessed!

Hey!!! I am leaving in just 3 days for the Balkans! I am sooooo excited! We are embarking a whole new way of Medical Evangelism! We'll be doing some clinic but mostly we'll be doing health teaching. We also have a licencesed psychologist who will be doing counseling (and I will provide some as well). Some of the teaching we'll be doing is on emotional health as well.
Pray for safety and favor! Favor with the people of the city and the gov't/city officials! Pray for our safety as there are still some political issues in the area. Pray for me as I am still in my cast!!

Philippine trip update
Hello folks! Just want you to be aware that you can check out the pictures from the Philippine trip at this address: http://flickr.com/photos/missionaryterri
Let me know if you have trouble getting it to open.
I also want to give you an update on the injury of my foot. Last Friday I went to see an Orthopedic specialist. He informed me that the break wasn't healing as well as he'd like and decided to put a cast on it. I have the cast on until June 16th. Here's a picture of the lovely blue cast that I am sporting for a while! :)
With that said, I'm asking for your prayers. I leave for the Balkans May 30th and return on June 14th with the cast on! Pray that I will not have trouble with swelling during the flight and that I am able to sit in a bulkhead seat so I can put my leg up. Pray for safetly during our time in the Balkans. I also ask that you pray for our team as we minister to the people in the cities we'll be in.
I know that the Lord has great things planned for the next trip! I am exicted to see what He will do.
Be blessed!

Philippines
Hey everyone I am back from my trip! It was an incredible trip! We had 4 full days of clinics. During our time there we saw over 1400 patients and over 650 accepted Christ for the first time.
We left Springfield on Monday and 27 hours later arrived in Manila on Tuesday night their time! Our team arrived very exhausted but looking forward to starting our clinic. We flew from Manila to Legaspi and then drove about an hour to Tabaco City. This is where we had our clinic for Thur, Fri and Sat morn.
Let me tell ya, it was hot, hot, hot the whole time we were there. The temp ranged from 102-120 degrees! Talk about sweating buckets!!!
On Sat we packed up our clinic and head out to the next location which was a 5 hour bus ride to the city of Talisay. We arrived at our hotel and climbed 4 flights of stairs (like our other hotel) then on to dinner down the street.
We finished eating and started to head back to the hotel to catch our bus to the next sight for set up. However, there was a slight detour....I decided to take a trip, really!!! I was a the corner waiting for our turn to cross the street. When our turn came around, I took a step down and kept on going. The curb was about a foot deep and I ended up spraining my ankle bad. It was the decision of the team leader and the missionary we were working with to send me to the ER to make sure it was ok! I was in excruciating pain!!
One of our team memebers and a Filipino doctor came with me to the ER. We arrived at the hospital and were 'greeted' by about 7 hospital workers. We told them I had a fall and needed to have my ankle/foot looked at. We waited a few minutes and then a gentleman came up and wheeled me into the X-Ray room. He took two pictures and then wheeled me back to the ER. The X-Ray was finished and he looked at it and consulted with the Doctor I came in with and then varified what we had determined it was....a sprain. A doctor from the hospital came in and looked at the X-Ray. She then came to the desk where I was sitting at and started to write something....my bill. HA...it was a whole 700....Pesos! Which adds up to about $16! We pay the bill and go our way.
I need to add here that the entire time I was in the ER, the only person that touched me was the X-Ray technician. None of the nurses, or doctors touched my foot. They didn't wrap it up or give me crutches. So I left just as I came! HA! Our ride had left so we hailed a cab....actually we got a pedi-cab. What is that??? It is a motorcycle/bicycle with a car attached to the cycle. But here there are made of flimsy metal! I got in the little car and the other two hopped on the back of the motorcycle. Sure wish I had a photo of it!!
I spent the next day (Sunday) in the hotel room while the rest of the team did clinic. On Monday I spent the last half of the day at the clinic.
I had a chance to pray with a 15/16 year old girl. She had come to the clinic do to an infection on her legs. When I saw her legs I felt awful for her. She had tears in her eyes and I shared with her how beautiful she is and how much God loves her. I spent a few moments with her in prayer and then she went to have her legs cleaned up by our doctors and nurses.
That was the single best moment for me while in the Philippines. It was the least I could do and I'm honored that God allowed me to have that moment with her.
On Tuesday we all woke up at 2:30AM to catch our bus at 3:30 so we could be on the plane back to Manila at 6:30! We got to Manila and arrived at our hotel by 11am. We were tired but we wanted to do some shopping and get lunch. For lunch we went to Chili's, yep the same Chili's we have here in USA! It was nice to have no rice for once! ha!
We heaed over to the market where we bought PEARLS! I bought several different kinds of pearls for super cheap. By the time I purchased my pearls I was exhausted and in pain! So a few of us went back to the room.
The next morning(Wed) we got up again at 2:30am so we can catch our flight at 6am! 2 very early mornings=9 very tired people!!!!
We arrived in Springfield at 5pm Wed night. I was very happy to be home and to sleep in my own bed. I slept 13 hours my first night.
On Thursday I went to the Urgent Care because I felt there was something else wrong with my foot. After the doctor looked at the new x-rays he informed me that I have a fracture in my foot as well as a sprained ankle!
Now I'm in a post-op boot (can't cast my foot) and ankle brace. I'm telling you I am a sight for sore eyes!
Well that's the highlights of the trip! I hope i didn't bore you. Thanks for your prayers and support.
Be Blessed, Terri

My projects
It's Friday and I am SOOOO bored at the office. While I like my job I hate sitting in the office day in and day out. I'd rather be out on the field doing hands on ministry! Probably why I am so looking forward to the Philippines trip in about 2 weeks now. WHOO HOO!!!!
I am currently working on a few projects. One is my newsletter! It's been due for some time and now I need to get it done! My goal is to have it ready to print by April 1st and in the mail by April 10th. We'll see! I have over 300 newletters to assemble!
I am also working on a project I'm calling "just give me the facts, please". I'm developing several leaflets on various mental/emotional health issues. I just completed 2 of them, depression and grief. I'm currently working on Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. There is so much information. My aim is to have them translated into Spanish & Russian. In the future we'll be able to get more translated but for now this is good.
My other project is developing seminars. I'll be doing a teaching on one of the upcoming trips. So I'm gathering a lot of information for that. I'm not sure what I'll do the teaching on but I'll have it figured out soon.
Anyway, those are just some random things on my plate! Pray for me! THANKS!!!
Until next time!!!
Terri

Philippines
Hey folks! Just a heads up on something you can pray for. I'm heading out to the Philippines in 3 weeks. I'll be going with a Medical Missions team with Health Care Ministries. My role is the finance lady and support staff!
I'm looking forward to this trip. I have not gone this far before so this will be a new place! I am ready to see what God has in store and what he's going to do!
Pray for safety in travel. We'll be flying for a LONG time (close to 20 hours I believe) and pray that jet lag isn't too bad for the team. We will have a long work week ahead of us once we arrive. Also pray that none of us get sick or dehydrated. It will be 100 or more degrees while we are there! YIKES! That's hot!!!
And FINALLY and most important, pray for souls to be won!!! That is our primary goal, to bring the lost to Jesus!!
I'll keep you posted on any other things you can pray for. Contact me if you have any questions! gris021075@yahoo.com
Be Blessed!!!!

Today is St Patrick's Day and I find it fitting to post St Patrick's Breastplate prayer. It's a powerful way to pray!!! May the Lord bless you today.
I arise todayThrough a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,Through the belief in the threeness,Through confession of the onenessOf the Creator of Creation.
I arise todayThrough the strength of Christ's birth with his baptism,Through the strength of his crucifixion with his burial,Through the strength of his resurrection with his ascension,Through the strength of his descent for the judgment of Doom.
I arise todayThrough the strength of the love of Cherubim,In obedience of angels,In the service of archangels,In hope of resurrection to meet with reward,In prayers of patriarchs,In predictions of prophets,In preaching of apostles,In faith of confessors,In innocence of holy virgins,In deeds of righteous men.
I arise today through the strength of heaven: Light of sun, Radiance of moon, Splendor of fire, Speed of lightning, Swiftness of wind, Depth of sea, Stability of earth, Firmness of rock.
I arise today through God's strength to pilot me: God's might to uphold me, God's wisdom to guide me, God's eye to look before me, God's ear to hear me, God's word to speak for me, God's hand to guard me, God's way to lie before me, God's shield to protect me, God's host to save me from snares of devils, From temptations of vices, From everyone who shall wish me ill, Afar and anear, Alone and in multitude.
I summon today all these powers between me and those evils, Against every cruel merciless power that may oppose my body and soul, Against incantations of false prophets, Against black laws of pagandom, Against false laws of heretics, Against craft of idolatry, Against spells of witches and smiths and wizards, Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul.
Christ to shield me today against poison, against burning, against drowning, against wounding, So that there may come to me abundance of reward.
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.
I arise today through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity, through belief in the threeness, through confession of the oneness, Of the Creator of Creation.

February!
It's my birthday month!!! WHOO HOO!!! On the 10th I'll be celebrating my 33rd birthday! I know I don't look a day over 25 so I am grateful the years are kind to me. Ha ha ha!!
My mom spent the last 3-4 days with me (her birthday is on the 3rd) and we had a wonderful time of shopping, talking, and eating!!! ;)
As I reflect over my life I am amazed at the life I have. I have screwed up somethings in my life but God has been so gracious and loving towards me. He has picked me up EVERY time I have stumbled and fallen!!! Thank you Abba.
I am grateful to my family who have loved me and supported me my entire life! Your reward shall be great! :)
I can say that I am a very blessed woman and that I have had a very good life. Without my friends, family, & God I could not survive this life!!!
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU! You know who you are!!

Going back to school
Hello!!! I just want to share some joyous news. On Monday Jan 14, I will start back to school. I'm working on my Masters in Human Services with an emphasis in Marriage and Family. I'll be getting my degree from Liberty University and will do it all via online! Thank goodness for modern technology.
I am grateful to be able to finally complete my Masters program. I started it in 2002 at Bethel Seminary and stepped down from the program in Jan 2004 so I could focus on my missions career. I am ready to complete the program and ready to LEARN!!!!
Please pray for my studies and that I will understand everything I'll be reading! :)
THANKS.....
Your missionary to the world!

Nalia!!!

I have delayed this post too long. Some of my blogger fans have complained that I've not done well with posting blogs in the last few months! I'm SORRY!!
I want to introduce to you my new puppy. Three days after Romeo died I went out and got a new puppy! Nalia is a Jack Russell Terrier and supposedly has some Shih Tzu in her as well, I don't see it! She has been a WONDERFUL puppy and is healthy too! I thank God for blessings like Nalia, even though she isn't 100% housebroken!!!
Happy New Year!!!
Happy 2008 to all of you!!!!!
I am SO looking forward to an incredible year ahead. I know that God has SO much in store for all of us.
For me personally, I decided against New Year's Resolutions. I am making LIFE STYLE changes. I know, that is so overly used but really, that's my goal. What I'm changing in my life presently will eventually become lifestyle changes.
I am striving to let my life be a reflection of who God is. I've struggled my entire life grasping the concept of God's unconditional love! Once I think I've got it, something else comes up and makes me wonder about His love. Not that I doubt His love, I just don't understand 100% how it works.
I've also struggled with grasping His forgiving nature. When I turn to sin, I feel awful and unforgivable BUT God in His Sovereignty forgives me when I ask. WOW...isn't that just amazing.
I know it's so basic but sometimes we have to be reminded of the basic things of God. I recall a song from the early 90's, Get Back to the Basics, sung by 4 Him. It was a reminder to us that we have to return to the Word Of God and to the Virtures and Morals that He laid out for us!
My challenge and prayer for you this year is that you will go back to the basics of who God is in your life. Don't allow religion and rules and regulations get in the way. Pull out the Word of God and discover God's truth for YOU!!!! Seek the Lord today!!!
Oh Lord
teach me to seek you,
and reveal yourself to me
when I seek you.
For I cannot seek you unless
you first teach me,
nor find you unless
you first reveal yourself to me.
Let me seek you in longing,
and long for you in seeking.
Let me find you in love,
and love you in finding.
